who were honored May 14, 2011,
at the Clarion Hotel, New Kensington, Pa. 15068


Ron
Cecil
Ron Cecil played on the 1965 WPIAL championship team with Oakmont High School coached by Chuck Wagner.
He played 2 years of football at Coffeyville Junior College before joining West Virgina University for his final 2 years of college football.
Cecil established many high school Track & Field records including becoming the state champion in the discuss throw.
Cecil also coached football and track at Swissvale High School.


Greg
Martucci
Greg Martucci is one of the AK Valley's all-time scoring greats where he ranks among the top 5 in total points.
Playing at Springdale High School, Martucci ammassed 1,820 points in his career, playing for coach, Harry Orbin.
In his senior year, Greg averaged 29.5 points per game.
With Greg Martucci on the court, Springdale won an amazing 47 consecutive section games.
Martucci enjoyed an outstanding career for the Crusaders at Holy Cross College.
Steve
Earley
Named Most Outstanding Lineman, Steve Earley played on the 1971 WPIAL championship team with Kiski Area coached by Dick Dilts and the 1972 Foothills Conference championship team.
Earley captained the 1976 West Virginia University football team where he started in 34 consecutive games for the Mountaineers.
Earley signed with the Cleveland Browns in 1977.


Barry
Nelson
Barry Nelson and twin-brother Garry, played basketball at Fox Chapel High School.
Playing for Duquesne University, Barry made two NCAA tournament appearances and one in the NIT.  The Dukes were 59-16 during Barry's stay at Duquesne.
Barry was a 5th-round pick of  Milwaukee and played in the NBA in 1971-72.  He is one of only 21 NBA draft picks to come out of Duquesne.
Barry went on to play professional basketball in Pairs, France for three years.
Sam
Elias
Sam Elias starred for the Arnold Lions High School basketball team and captured the WPIAL scoring title in 1936.
Elias played college basketball at Washington & Jefferson University, then joined the Detroit Eagles in the National Basketball League, the forerunner to the National Basketball Association.
Elias served his country in World War II, earning the Bronze Star and rising to the rank of Lt. Colonel.


Garry
Nelson
Garry Nelson and twin-brother Barry played basketball at Fox Chapel High School and college basketball at Duquesne University, also with brother Barry.
The Dallas Chaparrals of the American Basketball Association made Garry a 2nd-round draft pick while Buffalo of the NBA selected him in the 5th round.  Garry chose Buffalo, coached by Jack Ramsey.
As did his brother, Garry's pro basketball career path took him to Europe where he played in Italy.
Moses
Guin
Moe Guin was a fixture at the New Kensington YMCA for more than 35 years, handling the youth wrestling program.
Guin initiated the program and had the pleasure of grooming an untold number of wrestlers from several surrounding school districts who went on to win scholastic and collegiate championships in the sport.
At Fairmont State College, Guin played on two undefeated football teams while leading his squad in rushing.
Guin also wrestled at Fairmont State for four years.



Christine
Troilo
Christine, a Kiski Area High School and Indiana University of Pennsylvania graduate, once served as the head swimming coach at Kiski Area where her boys and girls teams won three section championship titles in a short, 10-year period.
Christine also coached in several District and State tournaments and founded a local swim club where she trained swimmers of all ages.  She also helped coach at the Allegheny Mountain Swimming Club.  Christine received two entries in Who's Who Among American Teachers from ties to swimmers she trained.
