Joseph Klein
|
| Member of the Ken-Hi WPIAL title football teams of 1946 & 1947. Played fullback for the '46 team and tackle on the '47 team. The 1947 Ken Hi team was considered the best in the country at that time. Accepted football scholarship to Michigan State, coached by 'Biggie' Munn. Helped grow the Spartans to national prominence. Member of the 1952 National Championship Michigan State team, ranked #1 by the Associated Press. Played in only two losing games in 26-game high school career. Played for Michigan State teams that won 28 consecutive games. | |

John Liput Jr.

| 4-yr basketball letterman at St. Joe's. Leading scorer & All Star selection. Attempted to earn Ohio State basketball scholarship as 'walk-on'. Recruited to play OSU football. Broke ankle, preventing him from competing in either sport. Became head basketball coach at St. Joe's, possibly the youngest person (20) ever to be a head coach. Played semi-pro basketball 1951-57. Led team in scoring. Refereed basketball 23 years. Current football field announcer at Burrell and organizer of school's youth basketball program. 20-yrs softball player. Works with Lower Burrell Flyers youth football program. |

| Lettered in tennis at Duquesne. Competed in Army tournaments during WW II. Organized & competed in tennis tournaments in AK Valley. Tennis instructor to Harrison Twp and Camp Hill youth. Organizes youth tennis tournaments in Central Pa. Won many honors and awards. Still competes in his age group. Challengers welcome. Has played all over the USA and Europe. Wrote a book on how to play tennis. Also competes on the ski slopes. Achieved rank of US Army Lt. Colonel. Led local reserve unit to post highest scores in 4th Army Artillery tests, beating regular-army squads. | |

| 3-yr starter at Oakmont High School in football, basketball & track and was captain in all three sports. Coach Chuck Wagner labeled him the best football player he had seen up until that time. All WPIAL in football & basketball, WPIAL Football MVP runner-up in senior year. 100-yd dash winner in senior year. Awarded football scholarship to North Carolina State, transferred to Slippery Rock after freshman year and became 2-way player. Had to sit out one year after transfer due to NCAA rules in transfer eligibility. Senior year captain at SRU. Track coach & assistant football coach at Brentwood. |

| Lettered in baseball & basketball at Har-Brack. Pitched for Campton in the Allegheny Valley League at age 18. Signed MLB contract with Philadelphia in 1950. Contract sold to Cincinnati. Assigned to Savannah, Georgia team and made league All Star in 1950. Continued education at University of Pittsburgh, graduating in 1953. Enlisted in the Navy in during Korean War. Pitched for US service teams in Korea & California. Played for Cincinnati's Wausau, Wisconsin team in 1956 and with Nashville in 1957. Career mark 28 wins, 28 losses, 3.43 ERA. Retired to work as Civil Engineer. | |

| Played 4 years of basketball at Bell Township High School and served as team captain. Recipient of AAU Tournament MVP award in senior year, scoring 77 of her team's 128 points in just 4 games. Chosen as All Star in senior season. Selected by Westinghouse Electric Corporation to play on its team, provided employment at the firm was accepted. Travelled throughout southern states, Ohio, Maryland and various parts of Pennsylvania to play basketball for Westinghouse. Still enjoys golfing and attends sporting events to observe family members. |

Won 10 conference championships at Brookville. High School Coach of the Year in 1969 & 1970. Successful coach of Men's Golf at Clarion.
