FAQ Who is eligible to be inducted into the AK Valley Sports Hall Of Fame? Anyone born in the AK Valley who made their notoriety in sports locally or who were born in the AK Valley and achieved their accomplishments outside the local area.  Also eligible are those born outside the boundaries of the AK Valley and made sports history in the local area. Why are some obvious names not in this Hall Of Fame? The AK Valley Sports Hall Of Fame has a firm, standing rule.  Anyone deemed acceptable for induction must physically attend the induction ceremonies.  That may mean travel from out-of-state for the inductee.  But, no one is inducted without the understanding that attendance is mandatory. That being the case, some of our selections have had to reject our nomination with the knowledge that they would be eligible again the following year.  Still, others, for probable personal reasons, have rejected any overture from this Hall. Will the Hall Of Fame Committee accept recommendatiions for induction? Absolutely!  You need only to provide the Hall with that person's name, address and phone number.  The committee will proceed to make contact and acquire that person's qualifications.  Sometimes, family and friends provide information as well as the prospect.  We encourage suggestions for nominations.
